A new beginning

Wow! You made it to the new year! Glory to God. A heartfelt welcome to myFather’s House, and welcome to January – the first month of 2019 – a year of glory ahead. Our January theme is “A new beginning”.

I love new things; new clothes, new cars, new opportunities, new businesses, new directions, etc. Generally, “New” is beautiful. “New” means great potential and opportunity. It also sometimes implies change and fear of the unknown

One awesome thing to bear in mind is that our God specializes in new beginnings. No matter how bad you’ve blown it, no matter what might have happened, God is able to give you a fresh start. How does God take a minus in your life and turn it into a plus?  He makes a Cross out of it. God specializes in turning crucifixions into resurrections.  Jesus Christ was nailed to the Cross so that you could have a new beginning. Isaiah 61:3 says:

“to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called trees of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His glory.”

ISAIAH 61:3

As this new year begins, I urge you to hope in the known, instead of fearing the unknown. We know that God is the author of all things new. And because He authors every good and perfect thing, you can trust that 2019 will bring good with it (Jam 1:17). You have to rely on Him to work all things out for you. He has great a plan and a great future for you – Jer. 29:11.

In the new beginning study series, we will lay a strong foundation, and build an enduring future. While looking steadfastly unto Jesus to make all things new for us; we will keep pressing on.

Allow the truth of the Word of God direct your life in 2019.

Happy new year!
