A Mindset of Gratitude

It’s October! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and here at MFH, we have so much to be grateful for. Our theme for the month is Gratitude. Gratitude is more than simply saying “thank you,” it is a great weapon of warfare. Its amazing powers have the ability to shift our perspective from focusing on the negatives to appreciating the positive things in our lives. Practicing daily gratitude gives us a deeper connection to ourselves, the world around us, and to our Creator, the Almighty Father.

Although we have so much to be grateful for in life, our gratitude is often trampled on by life’s constant demands, struggles, and worries. In the midst of hustling and bustling, it can be so easy to forget to pause and give thanks to God for all that He has done, and all He continues to do in our lives. The Psalmist knew better and wrote-“...Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, Who forgives all your iniquities, heals all your diseases, redeems your life from destruction, crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, satisfies you with good things...” (Ps. 103:1-5)

Research shows that, having a mindset of gratitude can enhance moods, decrease stress, brighten outward appearances and drastically improve one’s overall health and well-being. Therefore, if everyone practiced daily gratitude, we would be much happier. Love would grow and hate would decrease. What are you waiting for? Give gratitude a try!

This series will contain Gratitude to God, Gratitude to people including our parents and those that nurtured us and Gratitude to institutions.

“You have done so much for us Lord, we cannot tell it all, Narekelemo.”

Be grateful.
