Creating Lasting Relationships

Hi MFH Youth & Young Adults,

As we wrap up our month-long journey exploring Emotional Intelligence in Relationships, we're focusing on what it takes to build and maintain deeper connections. Let's put everything we've learned into practice!

🌱 THIS WEEK'S THEME: BUILDING DEEPER CONNECTIONS

“Deep connections are built in moments of presence, sustained through consistency, and strengthened by genuine care.”

In our final week, we'll explore three pillars of lasting relationships:

QUALITY TIME VS. QUANTITY TIME

It's not just about how much time we spend together, but how we spend that time.

This week's challenge: The Deep Connection Challenge
Choose one relationship and try these intentional connection activities:

  • Have a conversation without phones present

  • Ask questions that go beyond surface-level

  • Share something you're struggling with

  • Express specific appreciation

SUPPORTING GROWTH

True friendship means being someone's biggest cheerleader while giving them space to evolve.

Mini-Exercise: Growth Mindset in Relationships
Reflect on these questions:

  • How do you support others' dreams?

  • When do you need to step back?

  • How do you balance challenging and encouraging?

RELATIONSHIP MAINTENANCE

Like a garden, relationships need regular tending to flourish.

Create Your Relationship Care Plan:

  • Regular check-ins

  • Intentional appreciation

  • Shared goals and activities

  • Boundaries review
