HALF TIME: BUILDING CAPACITY FOR GROWTH

 (Isaiah 54:2)

Cheers to the sixth month of the year! It’s half time when we need to build capacity for growth. You are welcome to June.

Isaiah 54:2 says:

“Enlarge the place of thy tent and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.” (NKJV).

According to the dictionary, enlarge means make bigger, make more extensive. These can be linked to expand, break out, increase capacity, stretch out, no limits, no boundaries, thinking big etc. Therefore, enlarging your capacity for growth is not an option, but a Scriptural command. And we know that great opportunities and blessings open to us when we obey God’s Word. Therefore, as we reflect on where we are in life, and what we feel led to accomplish, we must trust God for and intentionally work towards enlargement, expansion and growth in every facet of life.

John Maxwell said

"Change is inevitable, but Growth is optional".

This is so true - you can choose to grow or remain on the same level. For example, all relationships change, because change is inevitable, but not all relationships experience growth. Growth only happens when both people in any relationship are committed to the ongoing emotional and spiritual growth that a mature relationship requires. Growth occurs when both people can see conflict and difficult times simply as occasions and opportunities for growth and for learning relationship skills. Also, growth occurs when a committed student comes up against a problem they don't understand or can't solve, and they work harder to figure it out, and or  consult with the tutor if needed, and in the process grow in their skill and knowledge.

In this series, we shall consider building spiritual capacity, building capacity for success, building capacity for change and building capacity to end well in life.

“One day your life will flash before your eyes, be sure to live a life that is worth watching.” – Pst Nike.
