FROM GLORY TO GLORY
(Exodus 33:18; Exodus 34:6-7; 1 Cor. 15:39-41; 2 Cor. 3:18; Psa. 138:8)
Happy Canada Day! May God continually keep our land glorious and free. I welcome you to the seventh month of the year and the beginning of the second half, July. Seven is a number of perfection, may God perfect all that concerns you this month (Psa. 138:8).
Our theme for July is ‘From Glory to Glory’ which means to be continuously changed into what you were created to be, to be conformed to the likeness of God, to be increasing in the character and nature of God, and to be ever-increasing in glory.
In Exodus 33:18, Moses said to God "show me your glory." In response, God said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you." The goodness of God is a manifestation of His glory. To go from glory to glory, we need to be growing in what makes up His glory. We need to be growing in compassion, graciousness, patience, love, faithfulness, and forgiveness.
Further in Exodus 34:6-7, God declares to Moses that He is the one and only true God. He is the Almighty, the eternal, and self-existent God. He is God and there is none beside Him. He is God and there is no other.
From this, we can see that the glory of God is the character and nature of God. It is what makes God who He is.
Here is a measuring gauge for you: God's glory can be seen in and through your goodness to others. To those who are not so good to you, can they see the goodness - the glory of God - in you? How are you doing on the journey from glory to glory?
In the series, we shall examine from grass to grace, from grace to glory, the glory of the youth, and from glory to glory. May the Almighty God move you from one level of glory to another. Amen!
