It's Half Time

Hello July! Waoh! It’s officially Summer. With Joy and peace, we welcome you to the second half of 2019. Our theme for July is “It’s half time!” In Proverbs 6:6, the Word of God admonishes us to learn from the ants:

Take a lesson from the ants…..Learn from their ways and become wise!

Therefore our teachings this July will be based on lessons from sportsmen and what they do at the game's half time. This will help us to prepare for a stronger and better second half of 2019.

There are many events that occur during a game’s half time - spectators analyse the game and apportion blame while the players have a short break, and light refreshments. The coach gives pep talks to the players in order to build a winning momentum/mentality for the second half of the game. Then the game plan is reviewed, strategies are revised and the players get ready to re-emerge.

Interestingly, at the end of halftime, teams usually swap ends of the playing field. This is to ensure that each team gets the opportunity to play at either end of the field. For us this means that it is time to change our point of view. It’s time to start seeing the world/our challenges like we are on the Lord's side of the field. The Lord is with us to guide and lead us through all the different phases of life. He is the ever-present help ( Psalm 46:1)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

You are a player in your life, and not a spectator. Therefore, review your first half of 2019, change what is not working and concentrate more on what is yielding results. If you did not win the first half, the second is here for you to excel! May your life be revived, as well as the work of God at MFH according to Habakkuk 3:2b (O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years , …..in wrath remember mercy). Strength to you!

Happy Canada Day!
